Permit your body to relax

Tonight we will be creating a haven in your mind. A safe place where you can go throughout the day whenever you feel stress. At first, you may find that it is difficult to remain in this haven and that the effects are not immediately noticeable. As time progresses and you do this more and more, you will find that you have an easier time remaining in your haven, that the effects of being there will become more profound, and that you need to spend less time there in order to feel the effects.

You may experience a sensation of ‘needing’ to do something. You might experience thoughts of “I need to go here” or “I have to do this”. Let these thoughts rise and pass. For now, you do not need to go anywhere. You do not need to do anything. You are simply here in the present, enjoying the moment, relaxing.

Consciously tell yourself that what you are doing is fine. You have full permission to retreat for a moment. Later, you might find that those things that you needed to do weren’t that urgent. Or maybe they are urgent, but by taking the time to withdraw and relax for a moment, you are able to complete these tasks with less stress and effort. You might find that what seemed like moving a mountain is little more than moving a molehill.
